Northeast School of Agricultural Lending

The Northeast School of Agricultural Lending is a one-week,
intensive program designed to strengthen the credit skills and decision
making abilities of those who deal with agricultural loans.
Learning Objectives are to prepare participants to serve agriculture's financial needs effectively and profitably by:
- Creating an awareness of the changing economic and banking environments, and the role of the ending community in financing agriculture;
- Developing a thorough understanding of agricultural lending through a focus on critical credit factors, their interrelationships, and determinants of lender profitability;
- Developing analytical skills and lending relationship management techniques.
This program is designed for individuals whose job performance would be enhanced by an understanding of agricultural loan analysis and portfolio management. This includes agricultural loan representatives; credit analysts; Farm Service Agency Directors; managers and loan officers; branch managers; internal auditors; state, FDIC, OCC, and Federal Reserve examiners with responsibility for agricultural loan analysis and agribusiness vendors. Participants should have a working knowledge of accounting and basic lending terms, concepts, and procedures.
